Al Irsyad Mosque in Padalarang, Bandung Regency is popularly known by its non-Indonesian conventional mosque design created by architect Ridwan Kamil who is now the mayor of Bandung City.
Its square shape without any pillar on the middle space really makes the architecture unique. It also has imam (someone who leads prayer) area above a pond. So it’s like imam is on floating zone.
The mosque also gives direct green mountain view right in its west side and the windows shaping giant caligraphy. These all elements in its architecture really give inspiration that spiritual matters can be experienced not only from literal prayer but also from the beautiful arts.
