The National Monument of Indonesia popularly known as Monas is one of the must-visit spots in Jakarta.
Through the time, it has become the icon of Jakarta where many people from other cities/countries take photo here as the proof that they already have been in Jakarta.
Initiated by first president of Indonesia Soekarno, Monas is the symbol of fight in obtaining independence. That fighting spirit is reflected through the flame on the top of monument. The flame itself is made by bronze covered with 50 kg gold foil.
